Dezful
Dezful is the primary commercial center for northern Khuzestan and a market for the agricultural products of Lorestan province. The city also contains a large cotton textile mill and many small- and medium-scale industries. The Dez dam, 203 m (666 ft) high, completed in 1963, is 32 km (20 mi) upstream from Dezful. The dam provides water and electricity for the city, as well as irrigation for nearby sugarcane farms (Haft Tappeh). Dezful sits on the main north-south highway from Tehran to Ahwaz. The main rail line from Tehran to Khorramshahr is 15 km (9 mi) from Dezful (in nearby city of Andimeshk), on the opposite side of the Dez River. The area around Dezful has been settled for more than 5000 years, but the city is believed to be formed during Sassanid dynasty with the help of some thousands of Roman prisoners of war. Dezful was heavily damaged during Iran-Iraq war and many historical and religious sites were destroyed.

Welcome To My Home Page
I made up this web site for my friends, and i put my hometown's name on it becasue i would like to introduce my city to them.

Dezful in 260 AD
Dezful
Its name meaning Bridge Fortress, is derived from the name of a bridge built on the perennial Ab-e Dez or Dez river during the reign of Shapour I (242-271 AD) using Roman soldiers taken prisoner at the battle of Edessa in 260 AD. This city was probably built in the Sassanian period.
